The Chocolate Milk Diet?
I admit it, I’ve never been a big fan of meal replacement drinks.
Most of them are filled with too much sugar and not enough protein. Plus, to put it bluntly, most taste like classroom chalk.
So when we went to work on a new meal replacement drink over 9 months ago, we had some specific criteria our drink must meet:
-At least 30 grams of protein per serving (it has 35g)
-It must have enough calories to qualify as a true meal “replacement”, but not so many that you’ll gain weight(it has perfect 270 calories)
-Must have at least 5 grams of fiber (it has 8g)
-Must have less than 20g of sugar (it has only 13g)
-And most importantly, it must taste great (it rocks)
Let me tell you, creating a meal replacement drink from scratch was more of a challenge than any of us thought it would be.
Too much protein - and it tastes awful.
Too much iron - and it tastes metallic.
And we had to do all the nutrient blending, plus make it taste good without adding unnecessary sugars.
I now understand why so few companies create meal replacement drinks. It’s tough work and we almost gave up on the drink about 7 times.
But we didn’t give up. Quit is just not in my vocabulary.
So after 9 months and taste-tests that were through the roof at over a dozen health clubs, I am pleased to present for your meal-replacement pleaure:
