I have what I feel is a tremendous and very unique offering. My background is in design, strategy and product development – so packaging my product into a clear, high value system is fairly straightforward for me.
However, I struggle most with distribution: getting qualified traffic, initiating the lead gen relationship and, above all, connecting with the best and most appropriate affiliates. Specifically, finding and working with affiliates with whom I’ll have a good, profitable and complimentary relationship. People who have what I need: good, qualified lists – and to whom I can offer a high-quality product that will reflect well on them and offer huge value to their customers.
I’m interested in getting that entire distribution funnel up as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Ryan, I’m WAAAAY interested, I hate the BS, upsells, VIP crap, and the Silver/Gold/Platinum levels that has flooded the market, “one entry-one level” is KING in my book. Facebook is ONE LEVEL and it works as a business model, don’t get me started on Steve Jobs, I was one of the first Apple fans in Rhode Island back in the early 80′s, been a fan ever since – thanks for hitting it with the simple stick Ryan!. I would love to get a Rhode Island group going here – sign me up!
As far as what I’d like to see in this “mystery” community: 1) low, low entrance fee (that’ll make me a member for life in any economy) 2) success story area (it doesn’t matter how small the success – it’s still success) when members upload their stories they should be able to tag it with keywords so other members can access the archives – read the story and get help and inspiration from it. (i.e. mobile marketing, membership site launch, podcasting etc) maybe you have a dropdown of preset keywords. 3) a forum similar to Quora.com would be nice – people ask a question, community answers, member who posted question rates the answers (star rating) member who gives 5 star answers builds his/her rep in the community.

We’ve got a couple hundred people in our mastermind program (different market) and reading through the feedback and comments, we realize that people are sincere, have limited resources and need an on-ramp to success. They have also spent a ton of money with little if any results. Anyway, we’re delivering our program now with the weekly content and through SKYPE to 24/7 access to RW and other members. We’ve been looking for a good online system other than Facebook groups, etc., so we’re excited to see what you come up with… Not really sold on forum software. Now, in regards to the type of content I’d like to see in the new hybrid membership site…
As I’m big-time into small business consulting, I’d love to see content about lead generation strategies (Specifically for products, instead of digital services). I consult for several large scrapbooking companies as well as a few companies that exclusively sell small products ($10-$20 USD range).
I’d love to brainstorm ideas about how to QUICKLY expand their market share and increase global reach.
Additionally, for my own business, I’d love ideas about how to QUICKLY create new content and training that people will LOVE, share/distribute, and trust.
I’ve been running an online business of my own successfully for 5 years (The last two years were very, very profitable). However, I’ve never personally taken home over a million dollars in one year.
I’d love for that to happen this year or early next. I have all of the pieces in place.
For me, it really is about that one keyword I upper cased throughout this post (QUICKLY…while still providing the stellar results and achievements my clients and I expect).

I would like to see more “real world” case studies of students who have achieved success, even very modest success, would be very helpful. For instance, I would rather listen to one in-depth interviews with people who have bootstrapped their business and learn how they built it from scratch than 10 interviews about building a “super affiliate network” (like you did recently). I can’t speak for anyone else, but I would be more interested in the “building blocks” of creating a good business foundation that puts you on the path to growth than the bigger, more ambitious, more advanced things. Here’s a few:
- mastering website/wordpress
- traffic generation (take a specific tactic and do a detailed deep-dive)
- auto-responder strategies
- how to conduct expert interviews using new technologies (Skype, GoToWebinar)
- Website hosting (what do you need)
- How to write better blog posts
- The technical nuts-and-bolts of setting up a webinar
- In-depth deep dives on different online payment options
I think with the current IC interviews, the better ones have been when you focus the guest on a fairly narrow topic; the ones where they cover so many things that they barely scratch the surface on them are less useful.

I worry about how many of us get lost in learning marketing strategies before we’ve truly identified a profitable business model and prepared an offer people want to buy.
I would suggest including more training in basic business-building. Many people are spending money on information they never apply because none of that so-called expertise actually points out to them that you have to put together a real business first.
Marketing strategies only work if you have something to sell that people want to buy.

I’m always looking to improve my list building chops. Not the “do this, do that” stuff. I’ve heard too much of – mostly from people who tell you how but probably never did it themselves.
What’s more compelling is strategies and ideas that actually WORKED. Outside the box? Contrarian? From the heart? Bring it on!
We’re on a mission to help people suffering from a very specific illness – for some it’s literally life or death and the medical establishment isn’t providing solutions. Some want to ignore it, how to better spread the word to those who will take action and get them to raise their hand?

What she is saying is exactly what I have problems with. It is the reason why I have so many old COURSES laying around here that have never been applied. They have been read and studied but never applied because they have no foundation information included.
The foundation, the basics of building your online business is never covered. If I had all the basics, I could put the rest together.
I have all this GREAT INFO in my head and in courses but can’t put it together because none of the “GURUS” ever give you the basics.
Like the very smallest basics of building your own wordpress site. Knowing how to do it yourself so you don’t have to rely on some tech person to fix something for you- ON THEIR TIME. Which may be a week or more.
The very smallest basics of your business foundation is so important just like the foundation of your house.
If it is not there, it is all going to fall apart around you. Anything has to have an extremely SOLID foundation to be able to build upon it. Including a business.
I have talked to SO many people who have this same problem with getting started online.

I am located in a very small town in Southwest Virginia about 2 hours Southwest of Roanoke. In the boonies for real !! I have Tennessee on one side of me and Kentucky on the other. There seem to be 2 major parts. First the nuts and bolts stuff, getting your site up and running ans secure and such. That can be a decent learning curve, but an efficient site well put together and well designed can be a great long term asset. Then MARKETING, MARKETING and more MARKETING. If your new community is going to be what you say, and I’m coming to believe you after having been here a short time, I’m in. Also an important part would be to actually be able to talk or at least e-mail directly with someone on particular points. It’s nice to watch overarching type talks but when I want someone to look at my sales page and give me feedback…That’s it… Looking forward to your new idea in action. Tom.

Re content – I’d like to see a LOT more about local marketing ie providing services to local brick ‘n mortar type businesses (How-to’s for the marketing services they need such as site optimisation, mobile marketing etc) rather than just all to do with being an info-marketer.

Also – re the masterminding – I would like to know I’m getting info from people who know what they’re talking about because they’re doing it successfully, (like YOU!!) not because they’ve read about it and put together a little theory e-course about it. Unfortunately most of the former folk aren’t IN masterminds because they’re too busy being successful with their own businesses to need to make a few quid extra telling other people how to do it!

I agree with Jen about getting lost in marketing strategies… it’s addicting like crack. (not that I’ve tried it :)
I must have spent 100k in courses and all sorts of things. I have no doubt most of the expensive ones are well worth it, full of great info. But the biggest lesson you can learn from doing that is hopping around from one thing to another just gives you shorter attention span, and makes it harder and harder to focus on one thing and keep at it till you figure it out and get comfortable at it, and learn it from all angles.
I think when you keep at it and get good at it, then you can make anything, any approach profitable, because you get it-how it works, how to tweak it, etc.
I also think those 15-50k and above masterminds are way too expensive for newbies, but I also have no doubt that ones like John Carlton and Dan Kennedy’s are well worth it for those earning lots already, and being in a group of very successful marketers like in those masterminds… probably no better way to skyrocket your own success. It’s the best way to get good at anything you do in life-surround yourself with highly successful people.

Ryan, Ditto on everything that has already been said. I would like to see the MM cover things like integrating social media into the marketing mix. Ways to engage customers/blog readers and make them committed fans.
My big concern is that I have missed some of your Wed live calls and have not always gone back to listen to them because I thought they would always be there. Will the interviews from the current IC be available on the new platform? Please say yes.
I am in Fairfield County Connecticut. I will travel anywhere in the State to be part of this brilliant and timely idea.

As I click through all the names of earlier commenters, there are clearly those that are “just another [insert niche] site,” and those that are on another level.
My biggest fear right now, getting into business is become “just another fitness site.” What I would like to learn is how to make absolutely sure that people come to my site and immediately feel confident in me as an expert.

The weekly meetings are great but I can’t attend due to schedule conflict, so I feel I dont get enough out of this membership. I have a website up and putting content and spending time marketing but still not flying off. I would like to be able to get ideas, and criticism from you :)) and from people that have things working. :)) I think we have a great product but I think I suck at marketing

Here are two areas I would like more info on and to be covered.
1.) Lead Generation: Paid traffic- PPC, solo ads, media buys to squeeze page. How to start small, turn profitable, and scale. Also, referrals/leads to media buy/PPC management companies that produce results. There are so many agencies out there you do not know where to turn. Who’s good, who’s bad, and who’s ugly.
2.) How to set up your backend email marketing campaign? How to market through email?
I am located about 45 minutes south of Chattanooga, TN and 1 1/2 hours north of Atlanta, GA.

I was really excited to read about the changes your making with your ic! It is really amazing the ideas that you’ve come up with. I know it is going to be a huge success for all your members and new people that join in the future.

I really like the ideas for the local mastermind groups. I’ve run two other MM of my own in the past and have gotten a lot out of them. I live in Naugatuck CT so I’m really interested to see where you will be having the local CT masterminds. I would be more than willing to travel to New Canaan! Or if you need someone in the Waterbury/Shelton/New Haven to lead a local group, I would love to help out.

My business partner and I have been wanting to get into your inner circle for some time now and maybe this will break the camels back and we will join. Ryan: here are some more refined thoughts about what would be great content for your new inner circle..The biggest missing piece for me almost daily, surely weekly is the ability to actually talk and get feedback from someone who knows more than I do. And likewise to be able to help someone else if I can. Being able to watch an overview video on a topic is good but being able to talk with someone who knows from their own experience would be great. One other item, if there could be an online library or index of all the various subjects, questions etc that you have answered over the years, that keep coming up for new people and experienced people, that I could access or search, that would do it.

As a new online business, one of the things I need most is marketing and SEO help. Where and how do I get the most traffic for my money and for free. I have no idea what I should spend or where for top results.

Hi Ryan, looking forward to your new Inner Circle concept. Things I would love to see included is information about ‘planning’ – to do or not to do – and if so, how much.
eg: schedule a month (or timeframe) of promotions/content and know what is coming up and how that then fits in with something that comes along that is well worth promoting to one’s subscribers.
