How to Re-Invent Yourself
By Ryan Lee | August 13, 2008
Whether it’s your business or your fitness, there comes a time where things can plateau and get a bit stagnant.
That’s when it’s time for a drastic change.
In fact, my entire business is based on thisimportant philosophy. It keeps things fresh.
Here are some real-world examples…
In regards to your training, you can try new equipment such as kettlebells or just bodyweight training (see examples at http://workoutpass.com)
When you’ve tried aerobic training, make the switch over to more effective and time-saving intervals (http://bodybot.com)
And two of my most seasoned web sites needed a jump-start so I brought on new managers to take over.
At http://strengthcoach.com - Mike Boyle completely revamped the site and brought on new pro strength coaches from college up to the NY Yankees.
At http://personaltraineru.com - Jim Labadie, Pat Rigsby and Nick Berry have uploaded new content, hired new faculty and even gave the site an entire overhaul.
I was tired of the same old boring fitness conferences so I started my own event that has changed the industry forever -
http://ryanleebootcamp.com
The nutritional supplement business was NOT meeting the needs of my fellow fitness professionals, so I took a big chance by
starting my own nutritional company - http://progradenutrition.com
Every publisher told me a combined health and wealth book wouldn’t work - but I took a chance and proved them wrong with my book - http://millionaireworkout.com
My point is do NOT be afraid to take a chance.
When people ask me what the secret to success is - I tell them a big part of it is to take a chance and try something different.
Make a change today.
Be risky.
Be different.
Stay strong,
Ryan
P.S. My next goal is to take on the publishing world. Just wait until you see what I have cookin’

Confessions of a “Guru”
By Ryan Lee | August 5, 2008
It’s pretty weird.
During the past few years, many people online have begun calling me a “guru” - and I just don’t know how to take it.
I certainly don’t think of myself as some all-knowing guru - I’m just a regular guy who’s blessed to do what I love everyday.
However, what troubles me is people trying to copy what I’m doing - but their heart is in the wrong place.
It’s obvious from the moment you speak to them they only have one thing on their mind, and that’s moolah.
And they DON’T CARE about anyone but themselves. Never have, never will.
Here’s a great quote my guest coach on this month’s coaching program said:
“People don’t care how much you know - until they know how much you care”
I admit, in the past I got a little carried away with my marketing (ok, maybe even a lot), but I feel like I have more clarity.
It could be having attended so many funerals lately. It could be the addition of my third child. It could be looking back at my first job at the children’s hospital and remembering all those kids that have passed away.
But I’ve really gotten back to my core values - and that is simply to help others live a better life. That’s it.
All of my friends, my sister and even my father read my emails every day - and that’s one of the best ways to remind me that every person getting my emails is a PERSON.
A person with feelings, emotions, friends and family.
Someone that should be treated with respect.
And I promise to continue to bring you my strategies to improve your life - even though there might be times you do not agree with me.
Will I continue to sell products?
Heck yeah. I love creating life-changing products and I have no problem building a reputable business that helps people and can bring me more income at the same time.
Thank YOU for continuing to read my emails and all the support throughout the years.
And as always… stay strong.
Ryan

The Competition Crusher!
By Ryan Lee | August 5, 2008
Three days ago, I was interviewed during a radio show. The host asked me what is the biggest change in my career during the past 2 years that has help my business explode.
And I knew the answer instantly. It was quite obvious.
It was writing a book.
My book improved my business in so many ways. Everything from more subscribers to more media interviews.
There are essentially 2 ways to write a book.
1. You can self-publish
2. You can get published by a traditional publisher
There are specific advantages to each.
And let me tell you, writing a book is much easier than you can imagine.
I’m so excited about book publishing I invited Chris Guerierro to speak at my bootcamp about how he sold over 1 million books.
But here’s the kicker.
I just signed with THE top literary agent in the world. He’s the kind of guy who knows every big book publisher and his authors get published.
However, he gets hundreds of people begging him to take them on as a client. After all, without a literary agent, it’s virtually impossible to get a book deal.
He’s looking to take on a fewthe new health and fitness authors - so he’s coming to bootcamp!
This mystery guest will take the stage and teach you the tricks to getting published.
And here’s the best part.
He’ll also conduct interviews with attendees and if he likes your book idea, he’ll sign you up as a client.
This almost assures you of a book deal (yes, your own “real book” in a real bookstore).
This kind of access to the top literary agent in the world is impossible to get if you didn’t attend my event.
And like all reputable literary agents - he works 100% on commission, so there’s no money to spend.
When he sells your book idea to a publisher, he receives his commission. Not a moment before.
But since there will be almost 400 people at the Bootcamp this year - interviews with him are done on a first come, first serve basis.
If you’re a fitness pro and want in, grab your spot NOW below:

Stay strong,
Ryan
P.S. Less than 2 weeks in almost 1/2 the spots are already gone. Don’t miss your opportunity to attend this life-altering event:

The Richest Guy in the World!
By Ryan Lee | August 5, 2008
Last night, my wife and I attended a wake.
Our good friend, Mike, lost his father after a 4 year battle with cancer.
When we pulled up to the funeral home, there were cars lined up for almost a mile. Over the past few days, probably close to a thousand people had come to pay their respects to Mike’s dad.
He seemed like one of those guys who knew everyone. He had six kids, ten grandchildren and countless friends.
Lately, I’ve been to a lot of funerals - and a funeral has a way of making you look closely at your life and re-evaluate your path.
By the turnout, it was obvious Mike’s dad led a “rich” life.
You might know in addition to teaching people how to get super fit, I also teach others how to become financially independent.
Where I see people making a huge mistake is getting caught up in just “making money”, but they lose sight of what’s important and are miserable along the way.
They believe it will all be ok because the 20 or so years of misery when they are finally rich.
Unfortunately, once they reach their financial goals, they realize it wasn’t worth the price.
You’ll usually find a trail of broken marriages, upset friends and family members they no longer speak to.
Believe me, even that expensive car you’ve always dreamed of eventually loses it’s appeal after a few months.
You see, it’s never been about money for me. It was always something more.
I was happy when I was making 26k a year working in a children’s hospital. And I’m still happy now, over 15 years later making much more than that.
Here’s something to write down and learn:
“If you are miserable without money, you are still going to be miserable with money.”
It’s not about “things”. That’s why you never see me posing in front of my house or cars. That’s why you won’t see me driving a Bently.
I teach my methods to help people achieve their financial goals WITHOUT having it take over their life.
It’s about finding a passion and turning that into a profitable revenue stream.
It’s about getting excited to wake up and start your day.
It’s not about working 18 hours a day at something you can’t stand doing.
When I left the funeral home I gave Mike a big hug and we just started crying. But when I left I had a sense of peace because I knew through all of his dad’s friends and family - his memory will live on for a very long time.
I hope when it’s my time to go, I can lay down and know they I led a rich life. And it’s not measured by the size of my bank accound - but by the impact I had on my friends and loved ones.
What kind of life do you want to live?
How many people are going to come to YOUR funeral and have great stories to share about you?
Stay strong,
Ryan

Don’t Fail Like This Guy!
By Ryan Lee | August 5, 2008
We are finally putting the finishing touches on our new house - and I just saw my electrician.
He’s a hard working guy but he looked overly stressed out.
He told me he just opened up a convenience store/deli. I was floored.
This guy is a talented electrician with his own company and he opens a deli in the same location where the same type of business has failed dozens of times before.
It’s just something he wanted to do - but he forgot to do his homework.
He didn’t realize just how many hours he would have to put in.
And the deli biz isn’t as glamorous as it might seem (ok, well the deli business doesn’t seem galmorous at all - who wants to smell like a pastrami on rye all day?
Now, he working around the clock at the deli (which is losing money) and his electrician biz is starting to go down the tubes.
What’s the moral of this story.
Well, it is two-fold.
1. Stick with your strengths. If you are a great personal trainer and hate the “biz” side of it, you probably shouldn’t open your own gym.
If you like eating pizza, it doesn’t mean you should open a pizzeria.
2. Picture your ultimate lifestyle FIRST - then build a business around that. Most people have it backwards.
I’m going to paraphrase Stephen Covey here:
Most people spend their whole lives climbing the ladder of success only to realize, when they get to the top, the ladder has been leaning against the wrong wall.
So my question to you is: what wall is your ladder leaning against.
Stay strong,
Ryan

You Don’t Know JACK!
By Ryan Lee | August 5, 2008
Last week, I spoke at an exclusive $3k per person seminar.
At the event, I met a big time book agent. This is the guy who LITERALLY wrote the book about getting published.
Anyway, after chatting for a bit, he said he’d like to represent my next book. And I agreed - he’s the right fit for me.
Yesterday we spoke on the phone for about an hour and brainstormed my next book’s title and focus. I listened intently as he revealed lots of interesting facts about the book publishing industry.
Towards the end of the conversation, I asked him how he chooses who to work with. He gets literally, hundreds of people contacting him who are dying to have him represent their book.
He told me he rejects 99% of them because the authors are just too stuck in their ways.
These authors don’t want to listen to his input (even though he knows every book publisher and has been doing it for over 20 years).
I’m smart enough to know I don’t know everything.
I believe, with every ounce of my being, once you think you know it all - you’re in big, big trouble.
You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. You should LISTEN twice as much as you talk.
Find a mentor.
Seek out other successful people and ask them how they became successful. Then shut up and listen.
Just wanted to share this tip for the day.
Stay strong,
Ryan
P.S. If you’re a fitness pro and want to meet the most successful people in the fitness industry, grab your spot at the http://ryanleebootcamp.com. After just 1 day over 1/3 of the tickets are already
sold-out.

Good News, Bad News
By Ryan Lee | July 22, 2008
I can’t believe how many people are “stepping up”.
I checked my email and received a message from Mike Boyle, founder of StrengthCoach.com.
He saw Zach Even-esh sponsored a scholarship to the Bootcamp and he wanted to do the same.
You can see all the deserving applicants here.
Mike has chosen his receipient and it’s Bob Bodnar. Congratulations Bob, we’ll see you in Stamford.
Now, I also said there was some bad news.
I started taking advanced registration for the Bootcamp on Saturday for all the people who have attended the previous event.
And unfortunately, a large number of slots are already gone.
In other words, there will be over 200,000 fitness pros fighting for the last Bootcamp spots.
So when it opens up to the public tomorrow, if you don’t signup right away, it might sell-out pretty quickly.
And since this is a live, in-person event and the space is already booked, no matter how much I’d like to, I legally cannot fit any more people in the room.
To grab your spot, here’s what you need to do:
Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12pm EST, go to http://ryanleebootcamp.com and reserve your spot right away.
Stay strong,
Ryan
P.S. watch your email tomorrow and make sure to go to http://ryanleebootcamp at Noon EST.
