Why this Guy is Failing

Yesterday at 3pm, I did a coaching call for a very successful fitness professional. He’s on TV often and has a studio doing multiple six figures a year.

BUT, he’s struggling to make moolah online.

After talking with him for about 10 minutes, and looking at his sales copy, it was blatantwhy he was doing so well “offline” and couldn’t tansfer that success “online”.

In person, he’s a really nice guy and cares a lot about getting his clients results. When a potential client meets him, they can feel his compassion and signup for training right away.

However, his web site gives an entirely different message.

He’s trying too hard to sell and make money.

From the first second you visit his site, he’s trying to sell you his ebook.

There’s no compassion. No story telling. And most importantly, NO CONNECTION.

I told him to shut down the site and let’s start from scratch.

Create a short video clip so people can see you are a genuine, caring person.

Then, just have a conversation with your potential clients. Talk to them, don’t shout headlines at them.

In other words, create a sie you would feel comfortable sending your mother or sister to. You can still write persuasive sales copy without going “hypey”.

There’s a lesson here.

Stop focusing entirely on the almighty dollar.

Instead, focus on your clients and customers. Put youself in their shoes. And most importantly, BE YOU.

  1. Good article Ryan,

You have a quick eye for immediately summing up what fitness pros need to do to be more successful…

    Keep up the great work!

  2. I have done some local seminars and workshops on local marketing for fitness pros in the southeast and that is the hardest point to make is that the client is buying YOU, not your product!
