Great find, Ryan, thanks for bringing my attention to it. I’m in the process of redesigning my site and will hopefully launch it this weekend, so having an “iPhone app” version to coincide with the new site design will be great.

It looks nice enough I’m going to shell out for the pro version, which has some nice features that the free version doesn’t and is pretty cheap.

Thanks for the tip, Ryan. I’ve been using the “WordPress Mobile Edition” plugin for the same purpose, but the screenshot you showed in the video looks like it may be nicer looking.

One comment on the video — the music is WAY louder than the voice.

    Hi Ryan

    Nice site design. Big improvement!

You may not realise it, yet by using YouTube your site may not work as good as possible. I suggest you grab Easy Video Player 2.0 which creates videos in HTML 5.

Then your site will rock on on both iPhones AND iPads!

    Best wishes,
    Jonathan

This is a nice resource, but WPTouch doesn’t really turn your site into an “app”. It does make your blog mobile-friendly, that’s for sure, but I’m looking for something that would actually turn your blog into an iPhone App that one could download from the App Store.

    Guess I’ll keep looking.

Ryan, Hi, There remains something in need of being pointed out to you, requires that you take notice about something you previously said that appears posted on your website “Turn Your Web Site into an iPhone App… For Free?” Leads one erroneously to (mis)believe that by them using WordPress plugin ‘Touch’ next automatically conveys that by using ‘Touch’ creates and guarantees ones own personal success at creating their future app. Is you promoting the idea, that using “WP ‘Touch’” automatically guarantees that WP will transform anyones website/blog post with the ease of use, is by them pushing a magic button, automatically creates for themselves instantly, their own iphone app – simply is not the case, is not true, and if anything, for the present moment, serves as an overt compounded over simplification for what exists. What you proscribe as taking place presently does not humanly exist, nor is it physically achievable for the present moment in time. Apple never intended their mobile app creation process to exist as you now (incorrectly) describe. Additionally any working app you might first have knowledge of being created yourself using WP ‘Touch’ becomes something you demonstrably achieved, is a direct result of your own prior knowledge and skill sets acquired. Comes by you being a seasoned 10 yr veteran internet marketer. To your lesser knowing students being the ones you teach, is reason why they are your students, they do not demonstrably exhibit nor possess the same levels of skill or core competency at knowledge much the same as you. In most instances, they differ compared against to what you state, (still remains for your students to learn), is thru their own experiences being obtained, serves as a valuable reminder that most of what you say remains an over simplification of a very lengthy involved process- App creation,. Yet is being conveyed (by you) as simple is misleading and an over simplification of truth. Under present normal conditions, what you describe is not what ordinary newbie beginners arguably could reasonably come to expect as being guaranteed themselves for a result, nor as being typical. As you and I both acknowledge, all results first obtained always compete and vary over time with the individual’s own level of competency at core knowledge, skill sets, and experience first being obtained elsewhere.

Hand Held Mobile device phone App creation is a lengthy involved mapping out process, next followed up by perfecting actionable sequence code being written ordinarily is not typically something novice newbies seeking to create an app ordinarily create overnite, nor anytime soon, by them using WP ‘Touch’ aside. Mobile device App creation first requires formal knowledge of lots of discernible facts and training at writing actionable sequenced code is something obtained thru study, and perfection. App creation for the novice beginner often results in taking weeks if not months and longer for them to obtain the required learning in order next they achieve core competency and perfection, in order for them next to skillfully move forward up the ladder towards app completion is by them seeking admission into Apple’s stringent App review/approval process- which from date of app submission, at bare minimum, requires a lengthy 2 weeks of app scrutiny being conducted by Apple’s APP review team members.

The take away message I got from you presently exists as being promoted upon your website, is “that anyone who first uses “WP ‘Touch’” (the magic bullet) next automatically guarantees themselves as being met by Apple’s stringent app review process automatically spells success,it doesn’t, simply is not true, is not the case, nor is it what was intended by Apple. As you and I both know, at least for the present moment in time, when it comes to mobile app development, unlike a vending machine dispensing soda, at present time there are no vending machines that with ease of use and push of a button automatically dispense to you your own perfect personally written for you mobile phone app. That day still awaits us.

I think what poisonivyguy is trying to say in 3 paragraphs is this: You just showed us how to make a WordPress Blog into a mobile template for mobile browsers. You did not show us how to turn our mobile website(s) into an iPhone app.

To understand the text messaging functionality of your iPhone, start by including family and friends to your contact list. This manner, sending and receiving textual content messages is easier.

Hey, Mister “Internet Marketing Expert”, that plugin doesn’t turn your site into an “app”, all it does is create a mobile version of your site for mobile phones. You’d think someone who claims to be an “internet expert” would know that.
