A Very Nice Moment!
Last week, I gave a lecture in Atlanta. It was a 75 minute talk and I flew in for the day.
As I was waiting in the security line at airport for my flight home, I noticed dozens of U.S. soldiers on the second floor balcony overlooking the waiting area. The soldiers were on R and R and simply waiting for their flight back to where they are stationed.
And then, there was a moment that just brought me goose bumps. All of a sudden, everyone waiting to go through security clearance looked up at the soldiers and started applauding the soldiers.
It was completely spontaneous and lasted for several minutes. People were simply clapping to show their appreciation for our troops. It was a really moving moment and this is the first time I have spoken of it.
Whether you believe in the war or not. Or you love George Bush or can’t stand him - when you look at these young men and women and see the sacrifices they are making, you have to admire their courage.
It really is moments like that one, on a Sunday morning at an airport in Atlanta, Georgia, that give me hope that despite our differences, we are all in it together.
This story has nothing to do with fitness, but I wanted to share that great moment with you.
